From the moment I could hold a crayon, I wanted to realistically portray the world around me. Landscapes, portraits and animals were slowly, meticulously drawn and painted.
But something was missing. I longed to create from my imagination.
Within my mind I could see visions of images that I felt compelled to create. However, I had always been the type of artist that needed a reference to work from. The internet did not exist at this time of my life, and there were no photos for what I was seeing within my mind. These images had never been created yet. So, the “dream visions”, as I like to call them now – gathered and gathered.
And, gathered.
Until one day, my purpose for creating art – shifted. I cared less about “perfectionism”, and more about expressing myself.
I began letting go of the expectations of what I had erroneously considered to be “good art”, letting go of the expectations of what I expected, and what I thought others expected of my art…that is when the visions gathering in my head year after year, began slowly flowing like a tiny droplet of water onto paper and canvas. The gathering inner visions then a trickled to a steady stream of images, and finally as a waterfall.
Not long after that I started my small, woman-owned business, Gathering Visions, LLC. to share my visions with the world…
Since that beginning in 2015 my focus has shifted even further into the world of energy work, meditation, yoga, self-empowerment and personal growth. I purposely create uplifting images to inspire and empower, to show the sparkles, the beauty and joy that is ever present even in the darkest of times.
